Going to the River... Baptisms!

We joined Arturo and Griselda, with their church - Iglesia Bautista Monte Sinai, on a day at the river for some baptisms.

There was a really good turn out from folks so they needed to use the church bus, their truck and our pickup to transport all the people!

The baptism process was both very solemn and very joyful!

And younger folks were being baptized too!

In total nine people were newly baptized following their profession of faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.

Baptisms at the river don't mean that all you do is go to the river for the baptisms.  Actually, it's an all day affair with lots of food and fun!

There was a rock at a deep spot in the river that some of the younger folks were diving and jumping off.

Here's Ellen diving off the same rock just to prove that she's still got it!

"Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, 

in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. 

And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Acts 2:38
